The Good
The flavours for both pastas were on point, very akin to what you get in Italy. The ingredients were extremely fresh and applied liberally. Cherry tomatoes were very flavoursome and juicy.
The pasta was cooked just right in my opinion, which is just a tad over al dente
The Mediocre
Not so much mediocre but that I am nitpicking here, but the bolognese sauce for the papadelle could have a richer and stronger tomato flavour. It was a tad ‘light’.
The Bad
Portion sizes for the pastas are quite small, as opposed to their pizzas. So don’t go when you are famished or be prepared to order two mains or a few sides…
The Verdict
Overall A25 makes a pretty good pasta. There is room for improvement though before they overtake my personal favourite Italian pasta in Melbourne - Grossi.
Service was quick, friendly and most of all very Italian.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Yes. Happily. Especially on their specials night.
