The Good
Chicken schnitzels were generally quite nice. White unprocessed meat with at least half an inch of thickness throughout, excluding crumbs. Both schnitzels were very juicy and enjoyable overall. Oh. Did i mention that they were biggggg?
The mushroom sauce was very rich and creamy. Came with actual slices of mushroom which was a plus. Probably the highlight for me.
The Mediocre
The topping on the Middle Eastern schnitzel was alright. Even though it had nice strong tomato flavours throughout with a decent amount of eggplant, capsicum etc. this was shadowed by the fact that the topping was cold!
Why you would put cold topping on a hot schnitzel is beyond me.
The chips were fine. A tad nicer than your local fish and chips joint with half decent seasoning and a nice crunch. Nothing to write home about though.
The Bad
What a pity that the schnitzels weren’t crunchy enough. The crumbs were on the verge of being soggy. Maybe it wasn’t baked long enough? This was really the only downside of the meal.
The Verdict
Overall a very decent feed. Good taste, good size, and good value.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
