The Good
The chips were fried quite nicely. Came fresh out of the deep fryer as expected which resulted in a nice crunchy skin and fluffy insides. However this deteriorated as time progressed.
The Mediocre
The Belgian sauce was so so. It wasn’t unpleasant as such, but was a bit bland and lacks the qualities of a good rich Mayo. It also tasted very fatty without having much flavour to the fat. I guess that’s what happens when you substitute animal fat for vegetable oil.
The Bad
The chips became soggy as I dug towards the bottom of the container. Eventually got too mushy near the end.
The Verdict
Overall not great given how much they charge for the chips and the sauce. The real letdown was the mediocre and bland sauce though.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Probably not. Would rather Coneheads if I were after some fast-food chips with sauce.
