  • Lasagne (Home Made)

The Good

Not too much. Everything was overall underwhelming given how good it looked…

The Mediocre

I’ve never had a lasagne presented this way and had high hopes for it. The meat bolognese was pretty much on point and quite authentic. It all fell apart however on the lasagne sheets, which were way too soft and soggy. I was also disappointed at how it lacked crunchy burnt bits on the side that you get in an authentic Italian lasagne.

The Bad

The pizza to be honest was not great. The tomato base was way too sour. Base became more and more chewy as the meal progressed.

The worst part is that I paid extra $6 for prosciutto on top. Absolutely no depth of flavours, didn’t even taste of meat and was just downright salty. Sliced ham from a supermarket would’ve been better honestly.

The Verdict

Overall disappointing meal. Having heard so much about this pizzeria, I didn’t expect to have such an unauthentic experience. Nothing was done to proper Italian standards.

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Probably not. If I wanted Italian, I’d opt for more authentic choices like elounge, Grossi or A25.
