The Good
Everything was extremely fresh and it was clear they didn’t skimp on quality.
The meat combo was simply delicious. Both beef and lamb were very flavourful, although the lamb was definitely on the far side.
Another standout for me were the mushrooms, which were again very fresh and has great variety. I’d definitely recommend this.
The plain noodles, although plain and otherwise unflavoured, were silky smooth and had a nice texture. They mixed very nicely with the various (unlimited) sauces and garnishes that you can grab yourself.
The Mediocre
The soup bases were nothing too special. However beware the spicy soup is extremely hot.
The meatballs in the combo was freshly minced meat of various variety, however this wasn’t very nice either due to the lack of flavouring or the meat itself.
The Bad
Nothing about the food was bad, but the queue was. Having been told a 20minute wait turned out to be one whole hour to get seated.
The Verdict
A very nice restaurant for hot pot whether you like spicy or not. Definitely an enjoyable experience overall although it is pricey.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Happily. Someone better queue for me though….
