The Good
Both the sauces for the lasagne and the rigatoni were pretty much perfect. Very rich tomato and beef based flavour without being overly sour.
The lasagne was extremely cheesy and also came in a rather large portion which I liked.
The eggplant was also cooked very well. Just cooked enough to melt in your mouth but still had a slight chewiness to it.
The Mediocre
The lasagne sheets were too soggy for my liking. Also, no burnt crunchy bits on the side either :(
The Bad
The rigatoni was wayyyyyy too al dante. It was exceptionally tough and chewy and did not provide for a very good experience, as it stayed in your mouth long after the nice sauce has been dissolved.
The Verdict
A25 usually does a pretty decent pasta. Not sure what’s the rush this time causing the rigatoni to be so undercooked.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Yes. Their pasta sauce is still only rivalled by Grossi in Melbourne. However, be prepared for an inconsistent experience.
