Food

  • Eggplant Moussaka
  • Chili Tiger Prawn Pizza

The Good

Not too much, the presentation was nice and so were the staff.

The Mediocre

The moussaka was downright odd. While presented nicely, it was not one would expect an authentic moussaka to be. There were no potato mash, there was no minced meat, the eggplant was not layered. How strange!

Granted, it was a vegeterian variety, but the lack of potatoes is not an excuse for the odd layout of the dish. The only redeeming factors were the nicely grilled eggplants and the semi-decent napoli sauce although that erred on the sour side. The feta cheese was a single block placed right in the middle, without much flavour.

The Bad

The pizza was highly disappointing. Base was extremely chewy and thick. Ingredients were sparse and far in-between. Prawns weren’t particularly fresh either, nor were they the ‘Tiger’ variety. Cheese was very cheap and chewey and tasted the part.

The Verdict

Overall a disappointing and uninspiring meal. Nothing was up to standard in terms of cooking and nothing was particularly fresh either. I expected a hellovalot more for the price tag and the popularity!

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Most definitely not. The quality of the food simply does not justify for the price.
