The Good
The waffles were freshly made to order, which resulted in a hot crunchy outer skin enclosing a soft and spongy waffle inner. It wasn’t overly sweet and hence made for a pretty much spot-on execution in terms of the waffles.
The S'mores topping were applied liberally. Even though I wasn’t a fan of the marshmallow and felt it cheapened the waffles and tasted out of place, the rest of the toppings complemented each other well. The saltiness of the peanut butter contrasted the sweet Chocolate and cookie chips. The smooth whipped cream juxtaposed the crunchiness of the peanuts in the peanut butter. Flavour and texture-wise pretty awesome.
The Mediocre
The marshmallows, as above, felt out of place. They were overly sweet and was an unnecessary addition.
The Bad
Nothing. Just be aware of their irregular hours/closing-when-we-feel-like-it/“ran out of stock”.
The Verdict
A delicious waffle once again by the Waffle Club. Great flavours and textures throughout made for a dessert I will be dreaming about for a long time. I wonder what would happen if they substituted the Belgian chocolate for Nutella though… hm.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Most definitely, will try adding some ice cream next time!
