Food
- Massaman Curry Lamb with Roti
- Pineapple Fried Rice with Beef
The Good
The lamb in the curry was extremely tender and soft. It was exceedingly aromatic due to being cooked, I assume slowly, in the curry sauce.
The curry however was definitely on the mild side, with a bit too much coconut milk.
The beef in the fried rice was fresh and was spiced nicely. Akin with the lamb, it too was tender and delicious and really brought the fried rice together.
The Mediocre
The fried rice was overall a tad sweet for my palate, but I guess that’s to be expected since it is Thai and contained pineapples.
The Bad
The roti, of which there was one and only one, was really too tiny to serve with the delicious curry sauce.
The Verdict
Overall a decent joint for Thai food. Portions are on the small size though, but the ingredients are fresh and flavours are on point.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Maybe. It definitely was not bad, but there was nothing too amazing that would make me rush back however, especially given the location and the price.
