Not much… unfortunately.
The Mediocre
The baked eggs were very ordinary. The so-called ‘Great Northern Beans’ within were anything but great and tasted like cheap canned baked beans.
The eggs benedict was drowned in Hollandaise sauce, which was the only thing that gave the dish flavour. The ham was devoid of any flavours but salt. How disappointing.

House-made corn bread smelled and tasted of old and rancid oil.

The flat white was weak, and was served luke warm. Their house blend also tasted rather pedestrian
The Verdict
Not a great place for breakfast/brunch to be honest. Every item was executed poorly despite looking great on the menu.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Nah, There are much, much better places for breakfast in Melbourne that consistently serve up delicious, well-cooked food.
