Food

  • 16-hour pulled pork (Prato Grande)

The Good

Pulled pork was simply delicious. The pork was so soft and tender and so flavoursome. Not too salty. I would’ve eaten a whole plate of just that.

The beans were cooked nicely with the sauce particularly flavourful. Even though I’m usually not a huge fan, these were quality beans that went well with the rice.

Special mention for the gucamole, which complemented particularly well with the pulled pork. Clearly this is home-made and not out of a jar.

Greek salad was delightful. Very fresh leaves with just the right amount of light dressing and a bit of feta cheese. This is an example of simple food done really well!

The Mediocre

Potato salad was a bit ordinary. Yes it was fresh, but otherwise nothing notable.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

A pretty good joint for lunch. Fresh, flavourful ingredients that are simply cooked well.

How authentic is the Brazilian food here? I really have no idea, but I know it’s delicious regardless.

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Most definitely! Too bad they are only open for lunch on weekdays.
