Food

  • Shanghai Xiao Long Bao
  • Chicken and Capsicum with Crispy Noodles
  • Pork Belly Noodles in Soup

The Good

The Xiao Long Bao were fresh out of the steamer. As a result, wrapped inside the very thin skin were meatballs that were exceedingly juicy and aromatic. This was pretty much a perfect example of a Xiao Long Bao in my books! Just divine and is as good as it gets I believe.

The pork belly noodles once again were simply perfect. Pork belly slices were cut thick and chunky, while still maintaining its softness and tenderness. Slow cooked to perfection in my books. Noodles were silky smooth and the broth was both flavourful and plentiful.

The Mediocre

The chicken and Capsicum noodles were quite lack luster. While the noodles were nice in soup, they honestly lost much of their appeal once dried and fried.

While chicken was plentiful and capsicum slices were fresh, the lack of sauce resulted in quite a bland dish. This was improved however by adding some chilli oil.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

An otherwise delicious meal that was led down by an adventurous dish that sounded delicious but fell flat on its face on execution.

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Oh yes. More pork belly for me please. I won’t be so adventurous next time though.
