Food
- Kimchi Fried Rice with Pork
- Beef Bulgogi with Rice
The Good
The flavours for both dishes were pretty spot on and definitely resembles authentic Korean cuisine. Along with fresh ingredients, this made for a delicious feed.
The kimchi fried rice packed a punch in terms of spicyness. The kimchi flavours were bold and apparent throughout, and complemented the meat and rice really well.
The beef bulgogi was seasoned just right with a good balance of sweet and savory. Beef wasn’t the highest quality but was not a cheap chewy variety either.
The Mediocre
The portion sizes were on the small size, and left much to be desired. Quite literally.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Overall a reasonably priced and authentic restaurant for some Korean food.
Flavours and cooking can’t be faulted which made for a pleasant surprise.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Sure. I’d make sure to get some pre or post-noms though as I surely wasn’t full from that.
