Food

  • Udon with Sliced Beef
  • Curry with Rice
  • Soft Boiled Egg

The Good

Not too much was good unfortunately. Free tea and toppings was a nice touch but even that had extremely limited choices and the toppings were honestly not fresh.

The Mediocre

The udon noodles were absolutely tiny. Just a handful of noodles in a tiny little bowl. While not low quality, they weren’t exactly that nice or outstanding either.

The sliced beef was also supplied sparingly and was on the tough side.

The curry was rather lackluster and resembled something straight out of a packet. I also note it is literally JUST curry sauce with nothing else in it! Along with the tiny portion of rice, this made for an highly unsatisfying experience.

The Bad

The soft boil egg was stone cold. How disappointing. It’s as if they boiled it and let it sit there for half the day.

The Verdict

Overall a highly unspectacular meal. While the headline price is low, given the tiny amounts of poor-quality and mediocre tasting food, this really does not represent good value.

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Absolutely not. Poor value, mediocre food, I left hungry and unsatisfied.

I would much rather rice workshop, which provides a much better feed at a comparable price.
