- Strawberry Shortcake Gelato
The Good
Loaded with a mountain of whipped cream and topped with shortbread and marshmallow on a stick, this gelato was undoubtedly an eyecandy and a sight to behold. Hidden underneath was the goods, strawberry gelato. With a smooth texture, the strawberry flavour was forward and refreshing. This was well contrasted by the popping candy within, which provided an exciting sensation with each mouthful.
The Mediocre
Unfortunately, the gelato itself wasn't overly creamy or milky, and exhibited, ever so slightly, the characteristics of a sorbet. We would've preferred a richer and creamier variety.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
While the Ice Cream here does look mighty spectacular, same can't be said about the taste, which can only be best described as good but unimpressive.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Sure. I'd be back for more but damn is it pricey for what you get.
