The Good
We started off the evening with a delicious Frosé, basically a pink slushie rosé which originated from New York. It came garnished with freeze dried raspberries and was a refreshing beverage perfect for consuming on a warm summer night by the gorgeous backdrop of the Yarra River.
The Chopped Cheese Sandwich, another New York culinary craze, was served in a bánh mì roll (Vietnamese roll) and consisted of Sevens Creek premium wagyu beef that was cooked on the flat grill with some melted American cheese and topped with lettuce, tomatoes and condiments. The beef was cooked to perfection and was nice and juicy. It was a rather enjoyable dish that went down well with the Frosé. However, it was a tad salty and would have benefited from some pickles to counterbalance the greasiness.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Riverland Bar is situated overlooking the Yarra River right next to Flinders Street Station and is a perfect location to catch up with friends or after work drinks. It had a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, and the items we tried were definitely enjoyable.
