The Good
We starting off with the Hazelnut flavour. With a nice creamy texture, the hazelnut flavour was apparent though not particularly bold nor forward. With a strong sweetness throughout, we found swirls of Nutella folded within and added an extra depth of chocolatey goodness.
The Pistachio didn’t disappoint either. The nutty flavour of pistachios was well complemented by actual bits of crunchy pistachio throughout. With a creamy sensation and much sweetness, we felt that the pistachio flavour could’ve once again been more apparent, though still enjoyable.
Not only were the scoops of gelato sizeable, this was all served on an also generously sized, crunchy black waffle cone. Delicate and crisp, the cone was fresh and provided good contrast in textures. Within the cone, we tasted bits of honey throughout which added an interesting, though we felt unnecessary sweetness.

The Verdict
It was definitely a tasty and very satisfying gelato. While we would’ve preferred bolder flavours and less sweetness, this definitely ranked as one of the top gelati we’ve sampled in Melbourne.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Definitely. Maybe even for other desserts next time.
