The Good

We started off with a trio of Oysters each and were immediately impressed. The freshness of the oysters were immediately apparent and was unrivaled. The sizable, juicy And creamy oysters offered up plenty of flavour, which was well accompanied by a variety of sauces of your choosing. We opted for the Thai sauce, which was sweet, bold, loaded with chilli and coriander – all the Thai flavours you’d normally expect. In contrast, the Yuzu sauce was lighter though equally enjoyable, offering up a tingle of spice and a hint of citrus flavour.

We proceeded to the main act, namely the Grilled Half South Australian Lobster. The beautifully presented lobster was split in half, smothered in a creamy and rich garlic butter sauce. Grilled to perfection, peeling back the golden brown outer reveals a meaty inner filled with beautiful lobster meat. Despite not being overly flavoursome in and of itself, the protein was succulent and juicy, well accompanied by the intensely flavoured and incredibly appetising lobster bisque served alongside.

Another highlight of the evening was the Classic New York Lobster Roll. Opting for the traditional option, we found the lobster within plentiful and juicy. Mixed within were plenty of diced celery and onions, as well as a generous helping of mayo what perfectly held everything together. Sandwiching it all was of course the delectably buttery bun, offering up just the right amount of richness and, with its lightly toasted and crisp outer, made this a rather awesome lobster roll indeed.

We concluded our meal with a Hojicha and Matcha Soft Serve, which was served with a beautiful matcha Tartlette and some blueberry fairy floss. The winner was of course the soft serve, with the lovely burnt tea flavour jelling rather well with the matcha.

The Mediocre
