The Good
The Milo Beast Pufflet was quite literally both a sight and handful to behold. Barely held together by a soft and crispy, fresh out of the press Milo Egg Waffle, the generous scoop of cookies and cream ice cream was creamy though a tad lighter on flavour than expected. However, the milo drizzle that was liberally applied on top added an amazing sweet, crunchy chocolate sensation that perfectly contrasted the softer components of the dessert. Coupled with a giant toasted marshmallow, this dessert was certainly not for the light-hearted.
The Sultan of Pandan was also quite enjoyable, which features coconut ice cream and pandan served on a simple egg waffle. The coconut ice cream was fragrant and nicely textured, with chunks of coconut found within. As the traditional combination goes, the coconut went unexpectedly well with the vibrant colour of the pandan jelly cubes. Offering up a very Asian twist on the humble egg waffle,
Another highlight for us must be their customisable Milkshakes. Opting for a base of Vanilla or Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, we were able to pick and choose our from a diverse range of cereals, chocolates and biscuits that could go into our shake. For a chocolate and peanut butter lover, we highly recommend picking Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Peanut M&M’s, Oreos and a few slices of McVities Digestives for a grainy and nutty sensation. This was probably the thickest, and if not one of the tastiest shakes we’ve come across for a long while, and having the freedom to decide what tickles your fancy definitely makes it a winner for us!
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Located in the CBD, Pufflets is a trendy little dessert bar that excels in dishing up astounding Egg Waffles. While these waffles are by no means made in a traditional Hong Kong style, we found them tasty, excitable and very satisfying nonetheless.
The option to customise and design your own Waffles and Milkshakes, or tweaking the existing offerings to your heart’s content makes this an attractive little gem for anyone looking to satiate their sweet tooth!
