The Good
The Kentucky Derby did not disappoint one bit. As our burger arrived, the first thing that stood out to us was the meat to bun ratio. With a ginormous piece of fried chicken that quite literally dwarfed the bun itself, we knew we were in for a treat! The fried chicken itself was delicious, so crunchy and crispy thanks to the double-frying. This was coupled with plenty of Sriracha Mayo that added an exciting kick in spice, it’s heat thankfully toned down thanks to the fresh crispy slaw.
The bun itself was pleasant though rather un-noteworthy when compared to the rest of the burger. Served alongside, our chips were also enjoyable though definitely needed more crunch. A tad more paprika wouldn’t hurt either!
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Inhabiting the space of a centrally located bar named Saving Grace, Burger Boys definitely know how to dish up a tasty, fuss-free burger that doesn’t aim to be overly complex.
The small yet well-executed menu allows for a burger to be served up within minutes, and for grabbing a quick bite to eat in the city, Burger Boys should definitely not be missed.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
