- Swiss Mushroom Melt
- Mr. Meat with extra Fried Chicken
The Good
Nothing.
The Mediocre
The Mr Meat was passable though not particularly tasty. The highlight was probably the addition of fried chicken, which honestly is hard to screw up. Unfortunately, the beef patty was severely overcooked, which made for a tough and chewy experience. The dryness, coupled with lack of beef flavour was rather disappointing.
The Bad
Unfortunately the Swiss Mushroom Melt did not impress. The thinly sliced mushrooms within were far from the plump and juicy shrooms we were after. While the cheese was plentiful, it lacked depth in flavour. Coupled with a once again overcooked and bland beef patty, we didn’t even bother finishing the whole burg.
The Verdict
Mr. Burger used to be synonymous with super-consistent, affordable burgers that are usually above average. It’s too bad the charm of a burger truck is long gone and the cooking is now overtaken by fancy machinery and pre-made ingredients with rather poor results to say the least.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Regrettably, we definitely can’t recommend returning for another burger.
Penguineats was invited to dine at Mr. Burger.
