The Good

It was off to an impressive start with the Seven Spice Tempura Prawns and Pork Gyoza. The prawns were reasonably sized, coated in a light, crispy batter of golden brown. The batter was lightly seasoned with the “seven spice” which ensured plenty of flavour, though bank fully still allowed the fresh, juicy prawns to shine.

Meanwhile, the Pork Gyoza were lightly pan fried with a slight crispy outer. Within the thin, delicate skin, the minced pork was well seasoned and mixed with chives to offer a fragrant experience.

We also enjoyed the Scallop and Tuna Tataki. The generously sized scallops were served whole on its shell, incredibly tender and juicy and paired with a delightful, slightly tangy Moshi tataki sauce. The Tuna on the other hand was just so fresh and delicate. The lightly seared outer juxtaposed the silky, soft inner. The sesame seeds dotted on top offered a lovely flavour that was accompanied well by the savoury and tangy tataki sauce.

The Rainbow Sushi Rolls didn’t disappoint either. Artfully presented with a colourful array of salmon, tuna and kingfish, the beautiful sashimi sitting on top these sushi rolls were simply flawless. The caviar garnish was simply the cherry on top, and combined with a tad of wasabi, this was a tasty dish that’s satisfy any sashimi craving.

The Curry Katsu was apparently a must try. The Katsu was beautifully crumbed and tried to a gorgeous golden brown. Within the batter, the thin and juicy pork fillet offered up a satisfying porky flavour. Surrounding it all was the curry sauce, which admittedly didn’t quite feel Japanese to our palate, though we can’t quite put our finger on the reason why. Served on a warm bed of rice, this was a definitely a hearty, satisfying dish.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.
