The Good

The Elote was simply delicious. Elegantly presented, the corn cob was beautifully charred and drizzled with an aptly spicy chilli mayo that offered up plenty of heat. The juicy, almost crunchy corn was well paired with grated Parmesan and tequila salt, and when drizzled with a squeeze of lime, this simple snack offered phenomenal flavour and definitely tantalised our tastebuds.

We also enjoyed Chachos Nachos. The corn chips were generous loaded with a good helping of salsa and guac, well balanced in sweetness. The corn chips were beautifully crisp, and well accompanied by almost crunchy bits of charred chorizo. It’s too bad this nachos had no cheese though as that would’ve definitely brought this to a whole new level.

The pizzas certainly did not disappoint. Our Whole Hog Pizza offered up a stunning crust that was dotted with charred heat spots and beautifully puffy. On top of the thin yet crisp and firm base held some absolutely delicious chunks of pork and fennel sausage, loaded with flavour and impeccably spiced. This was accompanied by a generous helping of perfectly melted mozzarella and ricotta, adding a lovely depth in flavour and plenty of creamy goodness. With just a tad of chilli oil, this pizza was almost a flavour overload! Delicious.

We also enjoyed Los Gardenos. This seemingly more plain pizza was anything but. The garlic and fior di latte base was fragrant and tasty, which was topped with slices of sweet potato and branches of broccolini roasted to a nice crisp. Adding to the depth in flavour were the parmigiano and rosemary sprinkled liberally on top. All in all an excellent vegetarian option.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

It’s not everyday you find Mexican inspired pizzas, though Chachos has definitely pulled off this rather unique fusion.
As a newly relaunched eatery in the trendy end of Chapel Street, the quirky menu at Chachos offers patrons affordable and most importantly tasty specials all day every day.

Their infamous $10 Margherita and Margarita is pretty hard to beat, both in taste and in value!
