The Good

We enjoyed such a stunning spread of mezze. The vibrant colours were well matched by bold flavours and exceptionally fresh produce.

A highlight of our mezze platter was undoubtedly the Cauliflower Baharat. Roasted to a beautiful softness yet offering a slight resistance, the cauliflower offered up a unique texture that was well accompanied by a beautiful baharat spice. The slight peppery sensation combined with a hint of cinnamon made this especially appetising.

We also enjoyed the Beetroot and Kale. The diced Beetroot was crunchy and earthy, it’s juices plentiful and refreshing. This was accompanied by fresh leaves of crisp kale. All drenched in a delightful sesame sauce, this flavoursome combination certainly satisfied our tastebuds.

Another mezze that should not be missed is definitely the Fresh Beans. With an excellent variety of fresh, crisp beans and peas, the lightly blanched greens offered up a satisfying crunch with each bite. The textures were further accentuated thanks to the occasional crushed almond mixed within. A light yet very tasty salad.

Our proteins did not disappoint either. The Zataar Spiced Chicken was cooked to perfection, the crisp skin generously loaded with a fragrant Zataar spice. Within, our Maryland was juicy and succulent, offering great chicken flavour.

The Roast Eggplant on the other hand was just divine. The thin slices of eggplant were roasted to a softy, almost gooey texture. The outer bits were lightly charred and provided a hint of bitter crispness. All held together with a generous helping of olive oil, this was one of the best roast eggplant we’ve come across.

We rounded off our mezze platter with some warm pita, which served as the perfect vehicle to soak up all the beautiful sauces from each salad, as well as mopping up some thick and creamy hummus!

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

The brainchild behind up this newly established eatery in Prahran is Charlie Carrington of ex-Atlas Dining, and it’s no surprise that under his stewardship, the food is both delicious and refined despite the fast-paced, casual setting.

Mediterranean cuisine is often synonymous with a gluttonous feast, but we are glad to report that tasty, healthy and affordable Mediterranean has finally arrived in Melbourne!
