The Good

We thoroughly enjoyed The Reuben. Advertised as a special, and utilising classic New York ingredients and creating amazing flavours thanks to the Smoked Pastrami, Pickles and Sauerkraut, this burger was certainly far from ordinary. The pastrami carried a beautiful beefy flavour with just a good amount of smokiness, though could be a bit more tender. This was well complemented by the double beef and cheese patties that made it a hearty and juicy experience. The best bit though was the sauerkraut, which was delightfully tangy and its crisp texture just made our day. It’s too bad the bun got a tad soggy at the end though.

We also enjoyed the Truffle and Mushroom. The double beef and cheese patties were once again tasty, though the highlight was undoubtedly the deliciously fragrant, exceptionally creamy mushroom ketchup, adding such a beautiful richness to the burg. This was well complemented by the truffle and roast garlic aioli, though the truffle could’ve been a tad more forward. We felt that the fried enoki mushrooms could’ve had so much potential of they were fried to a greater crisp to offer better texture diversity.

Our side of fries were absolutely massive. Fresh, crisp and golden brown, these served as the perfect instrument to try out their variety of sauces. The crowd favourite was definitely the Chipotle BBQ, well balanced in heat and flavour, with a nice sweetness throughout. Just spot on!

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

The burgers at Changz Canteen certainly lived up to our expectations, but their sauces were simply next level. If for nothing else, stop by for the sauceeeee!
