The Good
It was off to a great start with Mr Truffles. The standout was definitely the fried chicken, which was a perfect golden brown, it’s batter exceptional crispy and offered up a satisfying crunch. Underneath sat a thin yet flavoursome beefy patty made with a quality ground that ensured plenty of beefy goodness and a great juicy sensation. This was smothered with a generous helping of creamy truffle Mayo which was aptly rich though could’ve definitely benefited from a stronger truffle flavour.
We also enjoyed “The Secret”. With quite literally double of everything, this was Fish and Burger Co’s version of the infamous Big Mac. The beef patties were once again flawless and so flavoursome. And of course they were generously coated in plenty of melted cheese. All sandwiched in 3 layers of soft, fluffy buns and coupled with fresh lettuce, pickles and onions, this burger certainly did not disappoint.
The Triple Cooked Crispy Fries were just divine. Triple fried to ensure the perfect crunch, these chips had just the most crisp outer that created a flawless, crunchy sensation with each bite. In the words of manager Joel, “you can hear the crunch two doors down!”
The Nacho Waffle Fries most certainly impressed. The waffle cut on the potatoes created an amazing texture, with plenty of surface area to create crispness, coating a soft and fluffy inner. This was dressed in a generous helping of liquid cheddar cheese, and topped with dollops of guacamole, sour cream and fresh salsa. Simply delicious.
We rounded off the meal with their must have, the Nutella Rocher Shake that was absolutely decadent. The thick and creamy shake had an amazing Nutella flavour, and was liberally topped with scoops of Nutella ice cream, fairy floss, and drizzled with her more Nutella!
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
With an extensive menu serving up a huge range of burgers, fish and salads, Fish and Burger Co has evolved to be so much more than just your average burger joint.
They have most certainly got their burger recipes down pat, and with amazing sides and outrageous shakes to pair, you know you’ve got yourself a winning combination!
