The Good

It was an exceptional start to our Greek feast with the Chargrilled Octopus and Spanakopita Bites. The Chargrilled Octopus was elegantly presented, each small chunk was thinly sliced and was suitably tender and offered up a lovely charred outer. The tasty chunks were lightly dressed in olive oil and paired with a fava purée that was smooth and earthy, making for a fantastic contrast in textures.

The Spanakopita did not disappoint either. These were certainly much larger than bite sized, and the thin, crisp golden brown pastry enclosed and piping hot inner filled with a gorgeous spinach and feta stuffing. The inner was fragrant, aromatic and just slightly creamy, which was nicely juxtaposed by the crisp outer. Simply a delight!

The Eggplant with Slow Roasted Beef Shoulder also impressed. Baked to amazing softness, the gooey eggplant halves were filled with an impressive beef shoulder that was so bold and full of flavour. With a melt in your mouth sensation and a hint of sweetness throughout, paired with the slightly tough eggplant skin, this was a very appetising and fragrant dish!

We also enjoyed the Moo-sa-ka. Served piping hot and still bubbling around the edges, this traditional Greek comfort food was done just right. The cheesy, almost crisp top layer hid away an inner generously filled with a well-spiced beef mixed with gooey eggplant and soft potatoes. Combined with the bechamel on top, every mouthful was a flavoursome, pillowy heaven.

No Greek feast can be complete without some grilled protein, and we dug into the flawless Salmon and Chicken Skewers. The Salmon was done to absolute perfection, with a crisp, charred outer that made way for such a succulent, juicy and fresh inner that simply melted away in your mouth.

The Chicken skewers were no less impressive. The same beautiful charring offered up an amazing sensation that beautifully accompanied the tender cubes of chicken. Served alongside warm, fluffy pita bread and an assortment of dips including tzatziki, feta & capsicum, as well as taramasalata made for a hearty and absolutely delectable feast.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad
