The Good

It was off to a great start with the Yaki Hotate. With a lightly charred outer, the baked scallops were sizeable and deliciously tender and juicy, beautifully coated in a rich and creamy miso mushroom sauce that took it to a whole new level.  The Tempura Kani didn’t disappoint either. The pieces of crunchy soft shell crab were fried to a nice golden brown. The meaty and juicy bits were well accompanied by an assortment of fresh, crisp greens and a delightful miso mayonnaise.

Other sides included the Salmon Sashimi, which was so thin and delicate, beautifully tender and just so fresh. Another notable dish was the stunningly presented Scampi Truffle Tart, which had an interesting blend of fresh scampi, sweet mango, and just a hint of fragrant truffle.

The most anticipated part of our meal certainly did not disappoint. Our Stone Grill Experience consisted of cooking up some Rib Eye Scotch Fillet, Wagyu Rump, Beef Ribs, and Wagyu Scotch. The highlight was undoubtedly the Wagyu Rump, the marbling on the meat was simple incredible. Searing it for a few moments on the piping bag hot stone revealed an exceptional aroma and flavour, creating a melt in your mouth experience couple with plenty of beefy goodness.

The Beef Ribs were leaner and offered up a slightly more chewy, though most definitely juicier experience. Being right off the bone, the cut also created arguably fuller, bolder beef flavours.

We rounded off or meal with the Charcoal Chocolate And Japanese Melon Ice Cream. The chocolate flavour was exceptionally forward and bold without being overly rich. Meanwhile the Japanese Melon was sweet, and rather refreshing.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

It was a top notch experience from start to finish. The quality produce simply seared on the piping hot stone grill is definitely one of the best ways to enjoy meat.

Pair that with gorgeous, creative Japanese inspired side dishes, you’ve got yourself a winning combination!
