The Good
With a build-your-own menu and a dizzying array of options to pick from, we were spoilt for choice.
We decided on the Lemon, Garlic and Thyme sauce on a Grilled Quarter Chicken and did not regret it one bit. The slightly zesty and very fragrant glazing created a light and appetising experience. The slight charred outer made for a bit of crispness on the outer skin, sealing in the beautiful chicken juices and making for such a tender and succulent inner. Underneath sat a bed of fresh, lightly dressed broccoli salad as well as a generous helping of brown rice. The ultimate healthy yet satisfying meal.
It quickly became clear why the Peruvian Spice Rub was their best seller. The rub was sensational, offering an exceptionally aromatic and appetising experience. Slightly spicy and exceptionally bold in flavour, the middle-eastern spices created an amazing flavour when paired with the impeccably grilled chicken. Hell, even this breast piece was cooked to perfection and was just so amazingly tender.
We also enjoyed the Chicken Skewers with Hot a Sauce, though this was easily the least impressive of all the proteins. The hot sauce had a good amount of heat, but when compared side by side with the Peruvian Spice Rub, the winner was clear as night and day. In contrast, the hot sauce felt a tad one dimensional, spicy, yet lacking in depth of flavour. Fortunately, the Quinoa and roasted pumpkin tabouleh salad was sensational. So fresh, light and crumbly, the soft chunks of roasted pumpkins were definitely a highlight for us.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
With a very affordable price tag and more than generous serving sizes, Embers offers a seemingly no compromise on an amazing grill and great value.
The Peruvian Spice Rub with their signature Grilled Chicken is a must, and we are sure that Embers Grill is destined to become a local’s favourite.
