The Good
We started off with a range of Drumettes and Drumsticks coated in the special Honey Butter batter. This was apparently a rather popular choice in Korea though this was the first time we’ve come across such an option on fried chicken. The slightly sweet, slightly buttery and savoury seasoning paired rather nicely with the golden brown, crunchy batter. With a satisfying crunch, the batter easily crumbled away to reveal a juicy and tender inner that had
We moved onto a giant platter of Whole Fried Chicken, and of course opting for the half and half sauce. The Pelicana Marinated was an instant standout. The sweet, slightly spicy and very appetising sauce reminded us of the signature gochuchang. The sticky glaze combined with an incredibly crunchy skin offered up just the most satisfying experience. Along with the perfectly fried, juicy chicken within, this was an instant winner.
We also enjoyed the Wasabi flavour. With wasabi mixed throughout the batter, the thinner, arguably more crumbly skin carried a forward thought not overwhelming wasabi spice. Don’t fret though as this really wasn’t hot at all!
We rounded off our meal with the Kimchi Burger which was absolutely delicious. The burger was generously sized, and within the soft, fluffy buns, the giant chicken chop was topped with a delicious, slightly spicy kimchi slaw. The savoury juices of the tender fried chicken, combined with the signature taste of kimchi, was an unstoppable combination that just begged for one more bite.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
