The Good

We were off to a tasty start with the Bruschetta and Eggplant Parmigiana. The Homemade Bruschetta was topped with chunks of delightfully crispy pancetta. Underneath, the fragrant truffle cream was nicely paired with walnuts to create an amazing nutty sensation. Served on top of toasted bread and a bed of fresh rocket leaves

We also enjoyed the eggplant Parmigiana. Served piping hot, the soft, gooey Laura of eggplant were perfectly cooked under a thick, stretch layer of cheese. The sweetness of the eggplant was perfectly paired with the basil infused oil reduction to create a beautifully fragrant sensation. Delightful.

Another standout was the Risotto with Sea Flavours. The risotto was beautifully cooked, the arborio rice was just soft enough and inherited a divine seafood sensation from the rich creamy sauces. Topped with an abundance of fresh seafood including sizeable mussels, a crunchy king prawn, and plenty of pepes, this was a seafood lovers dream come true.

The Trento Pizza didn’t disappoint either. The truffle cream sauce was a definite highlight. The beautifully fragrant mushroom flavours were nicely paired slices of porcini and juicy, flavoursome chunks of pork sausage. The occasional cuts of asparagus added bursts of freshness throughout, while a drizzle of house made chilli oil really spiced up the flavours. This was all served on a thin, crisp base and puffy crust, though 30 more seconds in their woodfired oven would’ve really brought the crust and base to life.

Rocca’s certainly saves the best to last with their desserts. The heavenly Tortino Cioccolato was just divine. The pudding had a still-melty inner that was so decadent, it’s rich chocolatey goodness nicely juxtaposed by the berry coulis surround it.

The “deconstructed” Tiramisu also impressed equally. The coffee-soaked biscuits were hidden underneath a heap of creamy, silky mascarpone. The soft, spongy outer made way for a still-crunchy inner. Topped with plenty of chocolate powder, this beautifully balanced dessert was an indulgent way to end our meal.

The Mediocre

Unfortunately the service wasn’t quite the standard you would come to expect from a slightly more upmarket restaurant like this. While there was one very excellent server, the majority of the front of house staff were rather inexperience, leading to awkward questions and long wait times.

The Bad

Nothing.
