The Good

We knew we were off to a great start when the piping hot charcoal arrived at our spacious table. While many Koran BBQ are trending towards gas or electric, we still feel that the signature flavour that’s given off by cooking on charcoal is simply irreplaceable, so boy were we glad that this was a charcoal BBQ!

We dug into our BBQ Set 4, the combination set which comprised of Wagyu Scotch Fillet, Pork Belly and Soy Chicken. Served alongside were bowls of rice, various banchan, as well as a Korean soup of your choice.

Starting off with the Wagyu Scotch Fillet was just sensational. Cooked to a medium rare and fresh off the grill, the beef was lightly seared and carried an amazing aroma. Chomping down reveals a still-pink, incredibly juicy and tender inner that was bursting with flavour. Definitely a top quality cut of beef for sure.

The Soy Chicken didn’t disappoint either. The chicken fillets were generously sized and marinated in a slightly sweet and savoury soy sauce. The outer skin of the chicken was barbecued to a nice char, creating a delightful crispness that made way for a succulent experience.

The BBQ experience ended with the Pork Belly. The beautifully even layers of fat and lean of course made for an incredible texture and plenty of porky flavour. With an almost crunchy texture, the fatty outer was nicely rendered down and created a juicy sensation. Delicious.

We also enjoyed the Stone Pot Beef Bibimbap. Stunningly presented and served piping hot, we added a drizzle of soy sauce and chilli sauce and stirred things up. Within the bowl was an abundance of quality shredded beef, combined with plenty of mushrooms, veggies and white race made for a rather delicious bowl of comfort food.

For our sides, we found our Kimchi Soup loaded with quality ingredients such as soft cuts of pork and plenty of tofu and Kimchi. The soup was hot and carried a good amount of spice without being overly spicy. Our banchan, which consisted of four different dishes, were also fresh refilled generously.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

Knowledgeable, hospitable and efficient service, paired with top quality cuts of meat, all cooked on the signature charcoal grill. This is a premier, quality experience and is surely the best way to enjoy Korean BBQ, the traditional Korean way!
