The Good
It was a pleasant start to our meal with the “Stacks on, Rosti”. Piling impressively tall and precariously topped with a poached egg, this was a sight to behold. The amazing potato rosti was fried to an excellent crisp, sandwiching a generous helping of smashed avo and plenty of crisp fatty bacon. Combined with the runny yolk of the poached egg and some baked beans, this was a hearty, crunchy flavour explosion that just begged for another bite.
The Magical Mushrooms most certainly impressed as well! The marinated mushrooms were in abundance, topping the toasted sourdough and carried an amazing, fragrant sensation. The slight crispness of charred gruyere combined with truffle oil made the mushrooms extra special, and were beautifully accompanied by juicy cherry tomatoes, as well as tarragon and shallots just to give that extra flavour. A thoroughly enjoyable vegetarian dish that offered no compromise.
We rounded off our meal with the “Ah, Coconuts & Hemp-nola”. The gorgeous presentation and generous serve featured plenty of crisp buckwheat, nicely accompanied by crunchy whole almonds and hemp seeds. The top was layered with cuts of fresh berries and kiwi, with a thick and creamy coconut yoghurt holding it altogether and bits of passionfruit creating an awesome sweetness throughout.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
