The Good
The L’Italia Pizza was definitely enjoyable though not outstanding. Generously topped with thin, tender and delicate slices of prosciutto, they definitely weren’t shy on the portions! Underneath, the melted fior di late was well matched by an aromatic and rich tomato base that carried plenty of flavour and just the right acidity. Holding it all together was the dough, which was arguably the weakest point of this pizza. While fragrant and fresh with a subtle hint of charring, the base was incredibly limp and soggy. The crust itself also felt undercooked, pillowy soft though lacking in crispness.
The Mediocre
The Insalata de Pera wasn’t bad either to be honest. The signature combination of pear and rocket is time tested and has proven to work well in both flavours and textures. Unfortunately the sweetness of the pear felt overwhelmed due to the light helping of bitter rocket. Though combined with the crunch of toasted walnuts and shaved pamasean, this proves to be an enjoyable side nonetheless.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Situated in Docklands right next to Etihad, 90 Secondj is bustling with the work crowd on weekdays and filled with game-goers on weekends.
We felt that the food here was made in a true and authentic Italian way, though the execution could definitely be fine tuned.
