The Good
We were immediately impressed by their weekly special burger, the BBQ Short-Rib Cheeseburger. This was definitely no ordinary burger, featuring an actual Beef Short Rib within the buns! The rib was slow cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and succulent, the protein sell flavoured and effortlessly falling off the bone. The textured protein was beautifully accompanied by a perfectly cooked beef patty. While thin, the slightly crisp, caramelised outer made way for a juicy, and flavourful inner. This was accompanied a tasty BBQ sauce that didn’t overwhelm in sweetness, as well as plenty of melted cheese. All served in a soft, toasted bun, this was one beef burger that definitely impressed.
We also enjoyed The Catch. The lightly crumbed, golden brown barramundi offered up plenty of crunch, and was nicely accompanied by fresh and tangy Asian slaw. With a tinge of spice thanks to the lime and chipotle mayonnaise, this was a distinctly Asian inspired burger that’s perfect for fish lovers.
The Brisket Loaded Fries didn’t disappoint either. The pulled brisket on top was plentiful, though could be a tad more tender. Underneath were a generous helping of crunchy, well seasoned chips that exhibited a beautifully crisp outer and a pillowy soft inner. On top we found sprinkled with spring onions and chilli, this was one hearty loaded fries set to satiate any hunger.

The Verdict
Our first visit to the Beer and Burger Bar many years ago was but a distant memory. Having been revamped and sporting a modern, trendier theme, we are glad to report that the burgers here are as good as ever.
The burgers are well thought out, with complementary flavours and ingredients that work remarkably well together. Coupled with near perfect execution, this is the burger joint you gotta try for yourself!
