The Good
We thoroughly enjoyed the Pan Fried Pork and Chinese Cabbage Dumplings. Fresh out of the wok, the thin and delicate skin exhibited a slightly crisp sensation that held together an incredibly juicy and flavourful inner. The flavour from the pork mince was bold and forward, with a good amount of sweetness thanks to the Chinese cabbage.
The Noodles with Spicy Ground Pork also didn’t disappoint. The sauce was rich and flavourful, with a hint of spice and a beautiful umami flavour with a hint of sesame oil that definitely kept us licking our lips. This was nicely accompanied by thin, soft noodles that the sauce generously coated. Combined with shredded cucumber for freshness, this was definitely a tasty bowl of noodles.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
A newly opened tasty, no-fuss dumpling house, Nanjing Story serves up some tasty dishes that places emphasis on quality over quantity.
The portion sizes may be on the smaller side, but the flavour and execution were both commendable.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
