The Good

We were off to a tasty start with the classic Prawn and Chicken Dumplings. Plump and juicy, pan fried to a nice crisp, the flat golden skin exhibited a beautiful crunch. Within, the juicy and flavoursome protein was bold and tender, while the chilli oil added a fragrant and spicy kick to the already tasty dumplings.

We then moved onto the Miso Eggplant Chips. Lightly battered with a miso sauce and fried to perfection, the slight crispness of the outer was perfectly contrasted by the pillowy and gooey inner that was sweet and comforting. The sweetness was nicely rounded out by the savoury taste of miso, creating the perfect combination.

We also enjoyed the Pork Tonkatsu Sandwich. This traditional Japanese snack was simple yet tasty. The soft, fluffy white bread on the outer sandwiched a thick piece of incredible pork. We found the crumbed outer coarse and offered up plenty of crunch, while the inner was juicy, tender and incredibly meaty. This was well complemented by a slaw with plenty of mayo that held the bread and pork together. Simply delicious.

Not to be missed was the Beef Short Rib. The sizeable short rib was glazed with a sweet and savoury miso bbq sauce that was aromatic and carried plenty of flavour, all without overwhelming the goodness of the beef itself. Digging in, we found the protein incredibly tender and succulent, effortlessly falling off the bone and slowly melting away in your mouth. Accompanied by the tangy, spicy kimchi and rounded off by fragrant jasmine rice, this hearty and wholesome bowl was definitely a crowd pleaser.

Finally, we proceeded to dig into the Stir Fried Mushrooms Udon. The warm and hearty bowl contained a beautiful variety of mushrooms that were sauteed to create an amazing aroma. The generous helping of plump and juicy mushrooms offered a meaty texture, and was accompanied by plenty of leafy Asian greens too. Meanwhile, the thick Udon soaked up the flavoursome broth and made them perfect for slurping!

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.
