The Good
The Brown Sugar Deerioca with Matcha Latte certainly impressed. The matcha flavour was pleasant and fragrant, a lovely matcha sensation without so much as a hint of bitterness. The creamy texture was nicely accompanied by the thickness of the brown sugar syrup, which exhibited a complex, sweet sensation that was forward and bold. The pearls were fresh and chewy, still warm and almost gooey early on but hardened and grew more bouncy as the drink cooled down.
Not to be missed is of course their best seller, the Brown Sugar Deerioca with Creme Brulee Fresh Milk. Lightly blow torched, the top layer of the drink was slightly caramelised and offered a hint of crispness. Underneath, the drink exhibited the same gorgeous qualities as the Matcha Latte. The creamy milk was full of flavour, boding well with the brown sugar and pearls once again. This was perhaps our favourite of the bunch and rightly so.
The Mediocre
The Brown Sugar Deerioca with Cocoa Fresh Milk was also enjoyable, though definitely felt less exciting than the others. The chocolate was thin and sugary, feeling a tad more generic than a silky, velvety variety you’d get from something like an Italian chocolate. The chocolate flavour combined with the brown sugar also felt a tad much, and was testing our sweetness tolerance.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
