The Good
Our banquet was off to a great start with the Trio of Dips. Served with crispy and soft pita bread, our sample of dips included Hummus, Baba Ghannouj, and Labne. Our favourite was no doubt the Baba Ghannouj, which had a thick, crey texture with a beautiful roasted eggplant as a base. Meanwhile, the Hummus was creamy and nutty, drizzled with plenty of fragrant olive oil and offered an earthy sensation.
We then dug into the Chicken Wings. Perfectly grilled, we found the slightly charred outer skin enclosed an incredibly succulent and soft inner. The spices were delightful, exhibiting a slight spicy sensation nicely accompanying the umami of the chicken.
Not to be missed was the Spiced Squid. The generous helping of tender and soft pieces of perfectly grilled calamari were simply a delight. Offering a slightly bouncy feedback, the impeccable seafood was served with a beautifully zesty and tangy tomato, coriander and pomegranate salsa, offering a bold and flavourful experience that continued to impress bite after bite.
We also enjoyed the Lamb Kofta. These giant “skewers” if you could call it that, were generously sized in an oval shape. The mixture creating the kofta was a blend of minced lamb, onion, red capsicum, pine nuts, and of course plenty of spices. The chunky meaty koftas were incredibly flavoursome and of course had an insatiable, meaty sensation. The aroma of the spices, combined with plenty of seasoning and a lovely lamb flavour, made it a very tasty and meaty dish. We suggest pairing this with a lighter salad, like their refreshing Tabbouleh, to round out the meatiness.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
