The Good

It was a fantastic start to our Korean inspired brunch with the Mushroom Benedict. The beautifully presented truffled Korean forest mushrooms were plentiful and sauteed perfectly. The juicy, plump and meaty sensation of the mushrooms were made even tastier by the fragrance of truffle. This was accompanied by perfectly poached eggs, and dressed with a rich, peppery hollandaise. With a slice of sourdough soaking up all the beautiful juices, and the crunch of pickled cauliflower cutting through the richness, this was an absolutely sensational dish.

We also enjoyed the Pulled Pork Burger. The twice cooked pulled pork was sandwiched between toasted brioche. Offering a bold and forward sweetness, the sauce perhaps overwhelmed the flavour of the pork at times though still remained enjoyable. The star though were the waffle fries, fried to a perfect crisp and nicely seasoned, the crunchy golden outer perfectly encased a pillowy and comforting inner. Absolutely delicious.

We rounded off our brunch with the Mango Hotcakes. The stunning presentation was simply incredible, loaded with giant blueberries, plenty of fresh mangoes, and topped with a generous scoop of ice cream, it was definitely a sight to behold. The hotcake itself was thick and fluffy, with an airy quality that was perfect for soaking up the syrup.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

The newly opened Pocha Pocha offers a creative Korean twist to traditional brunch items. With a unique and interesting menu that’s bold on flavour, we see lots of potential with some slight tweaks here and there to the execution would really elevate this cafe to a whole new level.
