  • Pork Chop Noodles

The Good

Nothing.

The Mediocre

The Pan Fried Pork Dumplings were decent though nothing to write home about. The skin was thin and fried to a nice crisp. However, the inner porn and chives mixture lacked any porky flavour, and was overwhelmed by artificially sweetened sugar mixed within. The dumplings were also quite oily, almost like they were deep fried.

The Bad

The Pork Chop Noodles was a huge disappointment. First off, the bowl was topped with broccoli. No, not Chinese broccoli. We immediately knew we weren’t in for an authentic experience.
The usual tea-boiled flavoured egg was replaced with a deep fried egg.
The noodles were soggy and mushy, overcooked and glucky.
The Pork chop was tough, chewy, stringy and oh so devoid of flavour.
The broth was absolutely tasteless. Watered down to the millionth degree, much like the complimentary “tea” you get with just a bit of colour, tasting just like boiled water.
The supposedly salty and pickled veggies were neither salty nor very pickled.
A bowl of bland, almost unbearable disappointment.

The Verdict

Terrible and inauthentic “Chinese” food, cramped seating, loud screaming kids. Not sure why we bothered to be honest.

Would Penguin Eat Again?

Not that cheap, and rather nasty. No no no.
