The Good

It was a fantastic start to our Indonesian feast with the Ayam Penyet Asli. It’s not hard to understand why this is the signature dish, with it’s beautifully golden skin and generous size, it was a tempting sight to behold. Topped with crispy flakes, the crunch and texture of the outer was simply unbeatable. Within, we found the protein delectably juicy and tender, lightly seasoned and was beautifully accompanied by the ‘mild’ chilli sauce – which was more than spicy enough for the average non-Indonesian!

We then dug into the Mie Goreng Kampung. Another Indonesian classic, the stir fried noodles were saucy and full of flavour. Cooked to just the right softness, the slight spice of the noodles stirred through with mixed veggies and chunks of chicken made it exceptionally appetising. Alongside sat the two satay chicken skewers, lightly charred and cooked to perfection. The juicy and tender chicken pieces were well marinated in a flavoursome satay sauce that nicely accompanied the savoury flavours.

The Grilled Bay Lobster Specials are a definite must try. Served with a variety of sauces, we opted for a mix of Aroma and Jimbaran varieties.
The Aroma Bay Lobster was dressed in a dark sauce, with a lovely combination of sweet and savoury that carried plenty of depth. The sweetness was forward though not overwhelming, accompanying the beautifully grilled bay lobster protein that had an almost bouncy feedback.
Meanwhile, the Bali Jimbaran glaze had a distinctly yellow colour thanks to the tumeric within. The tumeric and garlic based sauce was both appetising and slightly creamy. Delicious.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.
