- La Charcutiere Raclette
The Good
Nothing.
The Mediocre
Opting for La Charcutiere, it definitely sounded a lot better than it tasted. While the potatoes were nicely sauteed to a soft and fluffy sensation, with some good charring on the outer, it was unfortunately all downhill from there. The Raclette Cheese, which was supposed to be the highlight of this cheesy French dish, was disappointing. While plentiful, it was not particularly strong and failed to provide much depth in flavour. This was not helped by the salami and ham, which weren't of the highest quality and were sparse and sparingly applied. Honestly, the whole dish lacked flavour, and it was just a very bland, unexcitable potato dish.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
The dish looked, and smelled a hell of a lot better than it tastes. Our group sampled all three varieties on offer that day and all were universally lacking in flavour and failed to excite any tastebuds. Given the premise of a cheese and potato dish, this was a far cry from the flavour hit we were all expecting.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
Given the price tag, the poor quality of the ingredients used, and lack of flavour, is all a bit too rich for me. I won't be back.
