The Good
We thoroughly enjoyed the Peanut Butter and Jam Donut. The thick outer coating of crunchy peanut butter was thick and rich. Chomping down on it reveals an inner filled with an aptly sweet strawberry jam that perfectly complemented the savoury flavours of the peanut butter. The dough of the donut was aptly soft and spongy, without so much as a hint of dryness. Delicious.
The Mediocre
The Ferrero Rocher Donut didn’t quite hit the mark. The outer chocolate layer was relatively thin, and as a result you were left with lots of dough and not much topping. A Nutella filled inner would’ve made a world of difference to this donut.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
As a relatively new entrant to the competitive donut market in Melbourne, Daniels Donuts dishes out some half decent donuts that definitely give others a run for their money. With a solid foundation, namely the dough, these donuts have plenty of opportunity to shine.
Would Penguin Eat Again?
That Peanut Butter and Jam definitely hit the spot, and we’d undoubtedly be back for more!
