The Good
The Sweetcorn Fritters Stack was a stunning sight to behold. Stacked three-high, the tall tower of fritters were pleasant, aptly sweet and slightly mushy, though they could’ve benefitted from a few more moments in the dryer to give it extra crisp. This was well complemented by plenty of fresh smashed avo as well as crispy slices of lean bacon that offered up a tasty savoury sensation. We also enjoyed the Forest Mushrooms. Served in a cute clay dish, the variety of mushrooms within were deafening and perfectly cooked, soft with a burst of juiciness. This was combined with plenty of spinach leaves that provided an earthy yet fresh sensation, while the chunks of fried bread scattered around offered up a nice crunch and textured experience.
We rounded off the meal with the Pancakes. Topped with a giant scoop of ice cream and garnished with Persian fairy floss with a brilliant pink colour, the slowly melting ice cream dripped down onto a generous helping of pancakes. Exhibiting a slightly dense yet spongy feedback, the pancakes themselves were nicely prepared and well-cooked, though a fluffier variety would’ve been a tad more pleasing on the palette. Served alongside were plenty of fresh berries and slices of mandarin, their tartness nicely contrasting the sweet syrup and ice cream throughout.

As a relatively new cafe, Charlotte’s Corner offers the locals of Blackburn an honest, tasty feed that, while bears no surprises, would definitely satisfy their breakfast cravings.
With a wide variety of dishes to choose from, the extensive menu sports both breaky and lunch options that are affordable, photogenic, and taste -almost- as good as it looks!
