The Good

The Beef Bulgogi Burger was an impressive sight to behold. Between the toasted brioche buns, we found a thick, chunky beef patty topped with beautiful melted cheese. The cheese itself was just on point, plenty of flavour and well accompanied by the hint of Bulgogi marinade within the beef patty. Along with some fresh greens and mayo, this Korean inspired burger was certainly tasty.

Our Fish Taco didn’t disappoint either. Topped with a fresh, crisp salsa and sweet crunchy corn kernels, the fish fillet sitting within was perfectly fried to golden brown. The batter was crisp and light, while the fish itself was beautifully tender and permeated hints of Mexican seasoning. The biggest downfall of this taco though was the tortilla itself, which was disappointingly cold and stiff.

The Mediocre

We tempted fate with an order of the Pericos Eggs. While this was certainly an unconventional cafe breakfast dish, we found it enjoyable nonetheless despite not really tickling our fancy at the end. The Colombian style lentils were cooked to an exceptionally soft and almost gooey texture. Well seasoned with chilli and tomatoes, the flavours were bold and forward, with just a hint of spice. The scrambled eggs were top notch, silky smooth and delightfully creamy. The fried corn bread however were rather dry and dense, without much seasoning or flavour these were the weakest point of the whole dish.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

Morrisons Cafe offers locals a breakfast experience that’s far from ordinary. With international influences scattered throughout their menu, this competitively priced cafe would definitely suit those looking to spice up their ordinary brunch fare.
