The Good

It was off to a great start with the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad. Opting to add pulled lamb, the tender and succulent chunks of well-seasoned, juicy protein were generously topped on top of fresh greens. The fresh leaves of rocket were well accompanied by quinoa, all accompanied by warm cubes of sweet roasted pumpkin. With a beautifully tangy lemon dressing adding zest, crisp slices of raw, spicy onion, as well as a healthy helping of feta cheese, this was one salad that certainly satisfied our tastebuds!

We also enjoyed the Chilli Scrambled Eggs. The eggs themselves were undoubtedly the highlight, so silky smooth and creamy, cooked just right with just a hint of fluffiness. On top sat a vibrantly coloured apple and fennel salad offering an amazing freshness, which was nicely juxtaposed by the rich, bold pulled pork that was almost a flavour overload. This was all served on two slices of incredibly spongy garlic toast offering an appetising garlic flavour and soaked up all the juices from the pulled pork. Simply delicious.

The Toasted Chicken Pita certainly wasn’t bad either. Within the thin pita that was toasted to a nice crisp, the tender slices of roast chicken within were well accompanied by a generous helping of avocado and spinach. This was held together thanks to the flavoursome melted Swiss cheese, though we could’ve definitely done with a tad more cheese and more seasoning to give it the punch in flavour we got with all the other dishes.

The Mediocre

The drinks didn’t quite impress unfortunately. The Matcha Latte had a brilliant latte art, however it was overly bitter initially thanks to the abundance of matcha powder. As we sipped on, the drink itself appeared milky and lacking in flavour.

The Latte was also similarly weak, lacking in creaminess and a good, lingering aftertaste. Shame really because they both looked so promising!

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

A humble little neighbourhood cafe, the menu at Harvest Blend simply offers incredible value for money and a very solid and tasty feed.

Their unique quirks on traditional breakfast items, coupled with excellent execution, has certainly made this an extraordinary food experience.
