The Good

The Chilli Scrambled Wrap was absolutely delicious. Front and centre stood a pile of fluffy scrambled eggs, aptly creamy with a good amount of chilli mixed through offering an appetising spice. Alongside sat strands of crisp bacon with its fat nicely caramelised offering an excitable crunch. This was accompanied by some smashed avocado as well as fresh baby spinach, with a vibrantly coloured beetroot hummus adding a beautiful earthiness. Holding ever throng together at the bottom was the wrap itself that was warm and suitably buttery, comparable to a denser version of a naan. Delicious.

The Vegetarian Breakfast Bowl certainly did not disappoint either. The spectacular colours made way for an absolutely flavoursome meal. The cloves of charred cauliflower were crunchy and offered up amazing flavour. Meanwhile, the fried sweet potatoes exhibited an excellent crunchy outer that made way for a sweet, gooey inner. With fluffy quinoa serving as the base of the dish and accompanied by lightly sautéed kale, fresh spinach and the once again lovely Beetroot hummus, this vegetarian bowl certainly delivered a bold, flavourful hit we very much didn’t expect.

The Mediocre

Unfortunately both the Oat Slice and Brownie didn’t hit the mark. The brownie was dry and powdery, far from the moist, fudgey sensation we were looking for.

Similar sentiments were felt towards the oat slice and it felt very very raw and could’ve benefitted from more honey and butter to hold it all together.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

Little Oak is newly opened cafe that offers locals all day breakfast options that won’t disappoint. With great coffee and delicious smoothies to pair, we can definitely spot the potential in this humble little eatery in the sleepy suburb of east Malvern!
