The Good
The Royale Double Deluxe was absolutely enormous. With everything served up at double the size, this was so much more than just your ordinary double patty burg. The soft fluffy bun held together a giant beef patty that was bigger than the size of your palm. The beef of course was grass fed and top notch, it’s coarse mince and light seasoning ensured plenty of forward, beefy flavour and an amazing juicy goodness. This was accompanied by aptly melted cheese and crisp bacon. When combined with onion, lettuce and plenty of Royale sauce offering a creamy and mustard-y sensation, this was one giant burger that just kept on giving.
The Original Chicken Burger was nothing short of impressive. The fried chicken was just impeccable, it’s crisp, crunchy outer offered up a satisfying crunch with each chomp. Within, the protein was perfectly seasoned and cooked flawlessly, creating such a succulent and tender experience. Combined with the once again fresh milk bun, plenty of flavourful, creamy sauces and fresh lettuce, this has got to be one of the best chicken burgers we’ve come across to date.
We rounded off our meal with a Hazelnut Milkshake and Salted Caramel Ice Cream. The Hazelnut shake was just delicious. Rich and creamy, with a forward hazelnut flavour that was so fragrant. Well behaved in sweetness, we could’ve kept slurping on this thick, creamy shake all night.
The ice cream was equally decadent. The salted caramel was beautifully balanced in sweet and salty, its thick and creamy consistency made every mouthful as enjoyable as the next.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Royale Bros is a bustling little takeaway joint that proves super popular with the locals on a Friday night.
Each and every ingredient and component used in their burgers and ice cream are simply top quality, and the careful execution is evident in every bite. This in turn, made for a thoroughly delicious cheatmeal from start to finish, and is definitely one that ranks amongst the best in Melbourne.
