The Good
It was an amazing start to our meal with a cup of Flat White. Despite the relatively simple latte art, the cup of coffee was just exceptional. Amazing flavour and aroma without so much as a hint of bitter sensation. The silky smooth froth and milk made this cuppa just so enjoyable, with an aftertaste that lingers in your mouth long after.
The Pastrami Toastie was just phenomenal. Stacked high and topped with a beautiful fried egg, the cheese oozing out of the tall Toastie stack was just irresistible. The pastrami within had great flavour and incredibly tender, well accompanied by a generous helping of rich, smoky melted mozzarella. Combined with tangy sauerkraut and a giant crisp pickle, this amazing sandwich went down a treat.
Our Veggie Benedict didn’t disappoint either. The beautiful panko-crumbed eggs were done to perfection. The crisp, crunchy outer reveals an inner of runny yolk. This was drenched in a spicy and appetising Sriracha hollandaise, and nicely accompanied by some juicy sautéed mushrooms, baby spinach. Coupled with some fresh chilli for spice and all served on a thin, crispy and almost fluffy roti, this vegetarian dish certainly did not disappoint one bit.
We rounded off the meal on a sweet note thanks to the French Toast. The Christmas pudding spiced brioche batter made for a cake-like texture that was well balanced in sweetness and spice. Topped with dollops of creme fraiche as well as plenty of fresh berries providing a hint of tartness, this stunning dessert satisfied the sweet tooth without going over the top!
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
This was definitely of the more enjoyable brunches we’ve had. The amazing flavour combinations, perfectly executed dishes and more than generous portions made each bite thoroughly memorable.
